Nicole L. Ghanayem, the author, is a native of Jacksonville, Florida.  She currently resides in the Savannah area with her husband and two canine children, where she is a professor of English and Composition at a local college.  Nicole is a first generation Palestinian American on her father’s side and second generation on her mother’s.  She grew up in a small diner for over twenty years before her father sold it, and established a larger version of his previous operation in 2008.  Nicole still goes home on weekends to wait tables.  She likes to refer to it as research.
